Correspondence Highlight Jeffrey Epstein and former Trump strategist Connection

In late 2018, Steve Bannon, previously a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK to deliver a address at the Oxford Union.

The speech was interrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that night, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Protesters slowed down my talk don't think I can make the plane we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein responded: "That. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "You are an amazing helper".

These exchanges were published on Wednesday alongside over 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the deceased financier convicted of sex crimes.

The disclosure by the House oversight committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's name is redacted. The BBC has been able to confirm his involvement by cross-referencing the timeline, occurrences, and places mentioned.

For example, Epstein talks about chartering a jet from the UK for the redacted user in the messages, and commends their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and delivered the talk at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any wrongdoing, did not reply on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon served as the president's key aides in the run up to the 2016 election and in the early days of his first administration, but stepped down from the White House in August 2017.

He has acknowledged he was producing a film about Epstein before his passing and allegedly has around 15 hours of footage. In a recording of his podcast recently, he stated: "We're going to publish the series, the five-part series, in the coming year - early next year."

But the recently disclosed documents suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier occasionally seeming to act like a personal assistant.

A few days before the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a private plane for Bannon, Epstein said: "how does it feel to have the most highly paid booking agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "You are quite capable asst", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in another message, Epstein told Bannon: "I'll make sure you're well looked after."

UK Politics Mentioned in Messages

The released communications also reveal Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in that year.

On the same day his address at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the EU exit thing this day with Nigel, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a allusion to the UK prime minister, the struggling UK prime minister at the period, he added: "The guys are trying to proceed. may soon…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "I think remaining as much as you can uk. Ideal- so others get the dedication of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Will Theresa may remain in power". Bannon answered: "It seems unlikely however the guys over here have little courage" and added "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; Davis - someone has to take charge".

May was eventually toppled in May 2019 after withstanding multiple attempts of no confidence in December 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK told the BBC: "Farage has never been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting occurred.

The US House of Representatives will decide soon on whether the justice department should make public all its files related to its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in prison in that year.

Attention in Epstein's relationships with powerful figures was renewed this week after the publication of more than 20,000 documents from his estate.

Some of those mentioned the former president, who has consistently denied any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they fell out in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was initially charged.
