Critical Role Season Four Unveils the Warriors Table

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in power within the urban setting.

Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of characters who will separate from the main group to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table features Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

With a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that having everyone at one table would be impossible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.

The Nature of the Combat Party

According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.

Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, attacking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.

Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants retribution.
  • Kattigan is familiar with the region and advises that it is a dangerous place.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their position as important members in the influential clan could help the group reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, The fighter pledged a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and The cleric defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
  • Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.

This leaves them little choice but to head to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.

What’s Next?

According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Seekers and Planners parties.

Viewers can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
